SUMMARY  

The L/NNGO Partnerships Advisor will play a vital role in building International Medical Corps’ relationship with important country governments, intergovernmental organizations, humanitarian response forums, international non-governmental partners, donors, and local partners. As part of the LEARN Sr. Management Team the incumbent will work closely to design a vision for engagement with these bodies and help to implement that vision through strategic relationship development on the project. Through International Medical Corps’ extensive network, the L/NNGO Partnerships Advisor will foster essential relationships and partnerships inside and outside the organization. Additionally, they will work to establish these relationships among the LEARN project consortium.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for engaging with important stakeholders, including country governments, intergovernmental organizations, humanitarian response forums, international non-governmental partners, donors, and local partners.
Collaborate with the LEARN Sr. Management Team to design a visionary framework for engagement with various entities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and mission.
Implement the established vision for engagement by fostering strategic relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, both within and outside of International Medical Corps.
Work proactively to establish and strengthen relationships among the LEARN project consortium, facilitating collaboration and synergy among consortium members.
Leverage International Medical Corps’ extensive network to cultivate and maintain essential relationships, ensuring the organization's visibility and influence within the humanitarian and development sectors.
Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to identify and pursue opportunities for joint initiatives, funding collaborations, and other mutually beneficial projects that align with the goals of the LEARN project and International Medical Corps.
Present the LEARN project at international forums in accordance with the stakeholder engagement strategy in order to advocate for its role and impact in humanitarian preparedness and response.
Prepare and update a cadre of presentation tools ready for dissemination internally throughout the consortium and externally through various stakeholder engagements including donors, government, and intergovernmental.
Communicate with humanitarian action coordination networks and seek to form partnership relationships with them.
Foster a culture of supportive supervision within the LEARN team, offering guidance and expertise to team members, including the Local Partnership Coordination Officer, to facilitate seamless handovers and provide strategic advice on maintaining and enhancing established relationships at the country level.
Leading and preparing partnership documents and updating them regularly (quarterly) in coordination with the concerned departments.
Maintain a database of all potential or current partners, actively updating it with new information as necessary.
Research and map out new partners in the region.
Planning, developing, supporting, and attending regular partnership coordination meetings to ensure successful program implementation.
Participate in LEARN’s project kick-off meetings with the selected LNNGOs as well as monthly and quarterly LEARN project management meetings.
Assist LEARN staff and partners with understanding of required policies and procedures as per the requirements of IMC, the donors, and best practices (procurement, financial reporting, child safeguarding, etc.)
Have a thorough understanding of the mission and regional contexts.
Maintain substantial relationships with key partners.
Raise the profile of International Medical Corps, its work and country missions through active identification and/or participation in forums, conferences, workshops, outreach events, and communication opportunities, including recommending opportunities for leadership representation.
Document all contacts and related data to the partners.
Work with members of other International Medical Corps departments who provide technical, programming, logistical, legal, security, human resource and communication oversight, input and/or supervision.
Support timely and proper reporting (programmatic, financial, donor, special, and other) and their flow including as needed review, analysis, and compliance with deadlines.
Remain up to date on key partner and LNNGO priorities and interests, ensuring that LEARN project strategies align with the partner’s requirements.
Support ongoing LEARN project initiatives including appropriate response to context changes, mission, program, and beneficiary needs, donor positioning, lessons learned, and best practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in public health, Social Work, International Relations, Business Administration, or International Development. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience in the humanitarian sector/with INGOs, country offices, international humanitarian response forums, governmental bodies, and intergovernmental bodies.
At least 7 years of experience specifically dedicated to facilitating, building, and managing strong partnerships.
Proficient skills and extensive experience in all aspects of program cycle management, including design and development, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.
Experience in organizational capacity development, training, mentoring, and coaching.
Proven experience in field-level representation with key stakeholders and coordination with other NGOs/UN.
Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to think and plan strategically.
Excellent team player with good skills in teamwork and a consultative approach to decision-making.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a good track record of report writing.
Full professional proficiency in English, both spoken and written; professional proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
Commitment to the values, mission, and principles of International Medical Corps and the LEARN project.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and field programs.
Outstanding organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
