Summary
AMI is looking for an experienced Digital Media Designer / Visual Designer to create culturally relevant digital media content, integrating instructional design principles, and producing multimedia for online training programs. Candidates should possess a degree in digital media or related field, proficiency in graphic design software, and experience in cross-cultural settings. Key skills include exceptional visual design, cultural sensitivity, and effective communication. The ideal candidate demonstrates creativity, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for using digital media to drive positive impact in African economic development.
Responsibilities:

Content Creation: Develop visually compelling and culturally relevant digital media content for online training programs targeted at SMEs across Africa.
Graphic Design: Design graphics, infographics, and other visual elements that resonate with diverse African audiences and enhance the learning experience.
Instructional Design Integration: Collaborate with instructional designers to integrate visual design elements seamlessly into instructional materials, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and pedagogical strategies.
Multimedia Production: Create engaging multimedia content, including videos, animations, and interactive simulations, to facilitate learning and knowledge retention.
Localization: Adapt content design and visuals to cater to the linguistic and cultural diversity of African SMEs, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of content to ensure accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and adherence to branding guidelines and organizational standards.
Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to ensure smooth integration and functionality of multimedia content within online training platforms.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in digital media design, instructional design, graphic design, or related field.
Proven experience in digital media design and visual content creation, with a focus on culturally diverse audiences and online learning environments.
Familiarity with instructional design principles and methodologies, particularly as they apply to online training and e-learning.
Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and multimedia tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, After Effects).
Experience working in cross-cultural settings, preferably within the African context, with an understanding of cultural nuances and sensitivities.
Strong portfolio showcasing creative and effective digital media content, instructional materials, and visual design projects tailored for diverse audiences.
Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and other online training platforms preferred.
