Job Summary
We are searching for a passionate and talented Kenyan Chef to join our team and lead the culinary exploration of vibrant Kenyan flavors. You will be responsible for creating and preparing authentic Kenyan dishes, overseeing our kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
Develop and implement daily and seasonal specials that showcase the diverse ingredients, cooking techniques, and regional specialties of Kenyan cuisine, aligned with your restaurant's focus. Prepare a wide variety of Kenyan dishes, including stews (njeri, ugali nyama), staple starches (ugali, chapati), flavorful vegetables (sukuma wiki, Kunde), and unique Kenyan desserts (mandazi, viazi vitamu). Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and authenticity of all dishes, highlighting the use of fresh, local ingredients. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment according to all health and safety regulations. Manage and train kitchen staff, delegating tasks, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative environment. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to source high-quality, locally sourced Kenyan ingredients whenever possible. Contribute to menu planning and recipe development, focusing on incorporating seasonal and regional specialties. Adhere to portion control and minimize food waste. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment. Possess a deep understanding of Kenyan culinary traditions and the importance of local ingredients in Kenyan cuisine.

Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience working in a professional Kenyan kitchen, preferably with experience in your specific regional focus (if applicable). Strong knowledge of Kenyan ingredients, cooking techniques, and traditional Kenyan dishes. Proven ability to prepare a wide variety of Kenyan dishes from scratch, showcasing vibrant flavors and textures. Excellent knife skills and a commitment to using fresh, local ingredients. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for Kenyan cuisine and a commitment to providing an authentic and flavorful dining experience.
