Duties and responsibilities:

 

l  Coordinating disease control and management including the animal welfare.

l  Coordinating the farm’s breeding activities for improved milk and calf production.

l  Implementing pasture and fodder establishment, management, harvesting and conservation plans within the target time frame.

l  Overall farm management and achieving agreed targets.

l  Implementing all Livestock policies and programs through coordination of farm operations and timely and accurate reporting to the head office.

l  Implementing an on-farm ration and feeding regime for profitable and sustainable milk and calf production.

l  Preparing and implementing farms plans and budgets for farm operations within the stipulated timelines.

l  Preparing, keeping and sharing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual farm reports.

l  Effective and efficient use and maintenance of farm machinery, implements and structures.

l  Mentoring, coaching, supervising and appraising all farm employees.

l  Representing KDDC in Stakeholder Workshops and Meetings in Area of work.
