The Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) was established in 1961 and was named as the then Voice of Kenya Training School. Its main purpose was to train electronic engineering and technicians for the then, Kenya Broadcasting Service (KBS), that was later rebranded in 1962 as the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC)

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

Responsible for the professional preparation and service of meals;
Receive menu interpretation from the immediate supervisor:
Set up work stations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipments;
Check quality of ingredients;
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen;
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as boilers, ovens, grills, fryers and any other kitchen equipment;
Ensure portion control during service time to ensure right quantity of food is served; and
Preparing, production and placement of food.

Job Specification.
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:

Certificate in Food and Beverage Production, Food and Beverage service and sales or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade D+ (Plus) or its approved equivalent:
Food handlers” certificate; and Certificate in computer skills,

Terms of Service

The successful candidate will be on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service. The Minimum basic salary for this position will range from Kshs. 18,908 — Kshs. 25,899 per month exclusive of allowances,
