JOB SUMMARY

Requirements:All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a: Kenya Police Clearance Certificate All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam.  Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time [4 weeks] upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.Education Requirements:Completion of secondary school is required. Completion of vocational training program from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman level licensed pipe fitter or welder and locksmith trade, trained in the maintenance of commercial or industrial buildings/facilities is required.Evaluations:You will be evaluated against the qualifications and requirements in this vacancy announcement. You may be asked to complete a pre-employment language or skills test.You must complete the application form and provide the required documents.  Your application must address all the position qualifications and requirements including education, experience, language, and any knowledge/skills/abilities listed.  If you fail to submit a complete application, then your application may be disqualified for this positionExperience:A minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in building environment as a journeyman welder and locks installer in commercial or industrial facilities is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent reports directly to the Supervisory Building Engineer in the Facility Management Office. The position holder is employed as an Electrical Technician to accomplish skilled maintenance and repair work at the journeyman electrician level, to International Building Code (IBC) standards, throughout all facilities on the New Embassy Compound (NEC) to include office buildings, grounds, out buildings, ancillary structures, and residential owned/leased properties.
