ABOUT THE COMPANY

M.P. Shah Hospital is a Social Service league Hospital which has been in existence for the last 83 years, as a ‘not for profit’ organization. The Hospital has one single social objective of providing quality, affordable health care services to the community at affordable costs. It is a multi-super-specialty, state-of-the art, tertiary care hospital with a current capacity of 210 fully operational beds, 30 dedicated critical care beds, 10 renal dialysis units and 12 chemotherapy units. It provides all the modern out-patient and in-patient facilities with dedicated pavilions/ wards, specialty clinics, advanced radiology, pathology and Cath lab operations. We are going through exciting times of development and redefining the way health care is delivered in East and Central Africa region.

JOB SUMMARY

Qualifications & Requirements 1. Master Degree in Medicine and Surgery or its equivalent from a recognized institution 2. Bachelors’ Degree in Medicine and Surgery 3. Post Graduate qualification in Management and leadership related course 4. Must have a valid membership and hold a valid medical practicing license. 5. Must have a Minimum of 4 years of experience working in a Managerial Position or a similar role 6. Has experience is driving quality initiatives to include and not limited to JCI, ISO, Safe Care etc 7. Should also possess/demonstrate the below competencies: 

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Managing and coordinating general and specialized medical services in the Hospital and its satellite clinics. 2. Providing operational leadership for the clinical services to ensure cost-effective and efficient service delivery in line with the hospital’s vision, mission, and objectives. 3. Monitoring medical service delivery within agreed frameworks 4. Drive towards the delivery of the Hospital Quality agenda, not limited to JCI, ISO amongst others 5. Preparing quality, timely progress reports of projects/processes assigned to the Chief Medical Officer’s Office. 6. Recruiting, mentoring, and supervising doctors through the various clinical heads of departments. 7. Will be responsible for liaison between doctors and hospital administration. 8. Supervise and maintain an objective, cost-saving, and feasible duty roster of all doctors in units to ensure 24-hour coverage of units including organizing for locum doctor cover during emergencies and scheduled leave. 9. Training, and overseeing the performance management of newly appointed and existing doctors that report to this role. 10. Will participate in the vetting and approval of new equipment needed for patient care. 11. Will participate in managing and improving unit performance plans with supervisors when required. 12. Developing and reviewing clinical policies, clinical care pathways, and clinical job descriptions in liaison with the HODs and the Chief Medical Officer. 13. Will be a part of and provide expertise to any committee formed by hospital administration for specific mandates. 14. Will serve as a key member of a dynamic, progressive multi-disciplinary management team as well as participate in the corporate board and senior-level management activities including the development and implementation of the institutional strategic plan. 15. Support the Hospital Go Green Hospital initiatives and drive the Medical Services Go Green agenda.
