POSITION SUMMARY

The Logistics Advisor will provide logistics advisory support services with an emphasis on logistics capacity development in support of the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF). The Logistics Advisor will better institutionalize logistics procedures and systems in order to meet all task order goals. The Logistics Advisor will assist the KDF to establish an online training and certification process, standard operating procedures (SOP), repair facilities in Isiolo, Thika, and Garissa, as well as develop a cadre of liaisons that can replicate the tasks managed the advisor. The Logistics Advisor will also develop a work plan that includes a breakdown of timelines, milestones, training schedules, and mentorship schedules while forecasting daily and weekly activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Meet all task order deliverables which include

Maintaining a capabilities assessment

Developing and maintaining a work plan, design, and conduct advisory efforts for KDF directorates

Provide advisory services to the KDF logistics, maintenance, and supply depots at Kahawa Barracks, Nairobi and other locations around Kenya

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Secret Clearance for which a US Citizenship is required

Three (3) years working in Sub-Saharan Africa or a post-conflict country

Five (5) years of hands-on experience working as an enlisted member or officer of the US military in a logistics MOS at the S-4 or equivalent section, with at least two (2) years working at the Brigade or equivalent Staff level

Two (2) years of experience developing and delivering training modules to foreign militaries. Experience may be demonstrated by serving as a 91Z58 Chief Instructor or equivalent

Four (4) years of experience with supply sourcing systems and military resourcing systems

Proficient at Microsoft Office applications, experience in building and conducting presentations, with strong oral and written skills

Ability to work independently and with key players in order to collaborate on task objectives

Ability to work in extreme heat, cold, dry, and other weather conditions often with limited access to modern conveniences.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed outside in extreme weather conditions that can exceed 100 degrees at times and in areas without typical modern conveniences. Work is typically based in OCONUS austere environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must pass a standard physical examination that included medical history, height, weight, and blood pressure. Must pass pre-employment drug testing and remain drug free for the duration of the contract. May be required to lift, lower, carry, push or move objects up to 50bs. Various tasks may require intermittent standing or prolonged sitting, and the ability to walk, reach, kneel, crouch and handle work related supplies and tools.
