OPEN POSITION:

Channel Development Manager (Located in Nairobi with travel as necessary)


As a key member of the Sales team in the Commercial department, you will oversee securing our Kenyan Fish Market Share by keeping Victory Farms competitive and innovative. You will be responsible for maximizing our sales potential in the modern trade segment, crafting data driven sales plans and justifying those to plans to the management prior to implementation.


Your primary responsibilities will consist of:

• Sales Targets successfully deliver the set volume targets and revenue targets -Using optimization of stocks allocation to the clients based on best margin acquisition.

• Customer Management. We’re looking for a results-driven Sales Representative with excellent interpersonal skills to actively seek out and engage customer, provide complete and appropriate solutions for every customer to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels and profitability.


Extended responsibilities include:

• Prospect Education: ability to effectively educate potential customers about the value their product or service can offer. This involves introducing new perspectives and ideas to prospects, building trust, and changing how they perceive tilapia products.

• Developing strategies to increase market share by identifying new opportunities in existing markets or developing new partnerships.

• Analysing data from internal systems and external sources to identify opportunities to improve sales performance.

• Identifying and contacting potential clients to determine their needs and assess their interest in the company’s products or services.

• Ensuring that company products or services are represented accurately in advertising and marketing materials.

• Developing and implementing a strategic plan to achieve specific goals linked to increasing revenues or improving customer satisfaction.

• Organizing on-ground marketing campaigns/pop ups in different spaces to increase market awareness of the products.

• Collaborating with the marketing department to promote visibility of the brand and products in the market and with partners.

• Communicating regularly with senior management about the status of projects and issues that could impact performance.

• Building costed business cases to support partnership ventures with Channel partners

Skills/Abilities required to succeed in this role

Collaboration:

Collaborate with prospects to find common solutions that address the prospect’s needs. Involving buyers in the decision-making process helps build rapport and ensures their active participation.


Product Knowledge:

The ideal candidate should quickly adapt and acquire an in-depth knowledge of Victory Farms products. This will enable them to address customer inquiries and provide accurate information.


Adaptability and Flexibility:

We operate in a dynamic industry that requires flexibility and adaptability. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to juggle tasks, handle changing situations, and adjust their approach as needed.


Target Audience Identification:

Understanding the target audience and effectively marketing to them is essential.


Organized Selling and Negotiation Skills:

Being organized and skilled in negotiation is crucial. To succeed in this role,

you must manage leads, follow up consistently, and negotiate effectively to close deals.


Good Interpersonal Communication:

Strong communication skills are essential for building relationships with clients.

Being able to listen actively, understand customer needs, and communicate clearly is vital.

Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

A commitment to excellent customer service.


Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field.

• At least four (4) years’ experience in similar position with one of the leading protein suppliers in Kenya.
