JOB SUMMARY

HIAS Kenya is looking for a hairdressing tutor to instruct residents on fundamental hairdressing skills, focusing on different techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• A Diploma/Certificate in hairdressing
• 1-2 years of salon work experience
• Previous experience as a hairdressing trainer is advantageous
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work well independently and within a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with Accountability to Affected Population, PSEA, and Anti-Fraud

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with the Centre Manager and MHPSS Associate to develop a curriculum tailored to the residents' needs
• Teach salon etiquette including customer service and time management
• Provide guidance on necessary teaching materials
• Stay updated on current haircuts and styling trends
• Assess beneficiaries' progress and create exit strategies for their livelihood sustainability
• Support in organizing capacity-building activities for beneficiaries in coordination with other departments
• Prepare regular reports on training services and attend staff meetings
