Kasha is a rapidly growing e-commerce startup based in East Africa with a focus on women's health and personal care products such as menstrual care, contraceptives, HIV self-tests, soaps, lotions, baby diapers, and beauty items.

Kasha's e-commerce platform is easily accessible across the region, allowing customers to place orders through the website, app, USSD (basic mobile phone, no internet), call center, or social media.


Job Purpose:

As a Credit Officer at Kasha, your main role is to ensure the smooth operation of credit operations by gathering necessary financial documents and evaluating clients' creditworthiness.

You will work closely with the Credit Administration Team to analyze risk ratios based on credit scores and financial histories, enabling well-informed decisions on credit provision.


Role Responsibilities:
  • Debt Collection and Payment Plans:
  • Manage debt collection within credit terms, negotiate and establish payment arrangements with customers to facilitate prompt repayments.
  • Account Reconciliation:
  • Ensure precise account reconciliation for an accurate financial position at any given time, maintaining transparency and reliability in financial records.
  • Issue Resolution:
  • Resolve matters like short deliveries, unallocated payments, and customer complaints promptly within a 48-hour timeframe to uphold customer satisfaction and trust.
  • Relationship Management:
  • Offer exceptional customer service by actively interacting with clients through phone calls, market visits, and feedback sessions, thereby building strong client relationships and gaining valuable market insights.
  • KYC Process and Data Capture:
  • Conduct comprehensive Know Your Customer (KYC) verification exercises for all new clients, ensuring the capture of relevant information in the company's system to support decision-making.
  • Credit Evaluation:
  • Assess the creditworthiness of Kasha customers before approving goods issuance to mitigate risks associated with credit extensions.
  • Debtor Management:
  • Maintain precise records of debtors, monitor existing debt progress, and track repayment activities to facilitate efficient debt management.
  • Demand Letters and Reporting:
  • Prepare demand letters for defaulters and compile detailed weekly and monthly debtor reports to identify delinquencies and guide strategic decision-making.

Role Requirements:
  • Business-related degree or equivalent from a recognized university, paired with CPA 2 or equivalent. Alternatively, CPA 2 certification with demonstrated satisfactory experience as a Credit Officer in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) setting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, showcasing proficiency in credit control or related fields.
  • Exceptional analytical skills needed for interpreting and effectively managing intricate financial data.
  • Outstanding organizational skills for efficient task management, especially under pressure.
  • Strong dedication to ethical conduct while handling sensitive financial data.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities, backed by a track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
