ABOUT THE COMPANY
Moi University was established in 1984 by an Act of Parliament (Moi University Act, 1984) as the second public university in Kenya. This was on the recommendation of a Presidential Working Party, chaired by Prof. Collins B. Mackay, which had collected views from Kenyans about the desirability of the same. Courtesy of his deep and altruistic concern for and interest in the advancement of education at all levels in Kenya, not only as a professional teacher but as Kenya's Head of State, President Daniel Toroitich arap Moi pioneered the idea of a university in a rural setting.
JOB SUMMARY
For appointment to this position, a candidate must:Have a relevant Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) from an accredited/ recognized academic institution;Have a minimum of twelve (12) research publication output points from refereed scholarly journals and two (2) points from publications in conference proceedings,ORHave a minimum of thirty two (32) publication points if the applicant is from a research institution,ORHave a minimum of six (6) publication points if the applicant is from practice/industry,Show evidence of evaluated effective teaching and / or research;Show evidence of recognition and registration by the relevant regulatory body where applicable: andShow evidence of membership or affiliation of the relevant professional body where applicable.Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions. RESPONSIBILITIES
Ref. MU/AC/04/6/2024Duties and ResponsibilitiesAn individual appointed as a Lecturer shall:Teach and assess courses in one's discipline at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels;Supervise undergraduate students" projects and other experiential learning programmes;Supervise dissertations/theses at postgraduate level;Participate in the development/ review of undergraduate and postgraduate courses;Initiate, promote and participate in research projects;Provide professional and community services, and initiate strategic training and research partnerships and linkages, and undertake fundraising for the University; andCarry out administrative and such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
