  • The key responsibilities of the ideal candidate include:
  • Supporting Bureau Veritas Upstream Agri Services in Kenya from a QA/QC perspective, with a focus on agricultural precision farming; seed testing and management, plant nutrition, soil science & fertility management, crop protection services, traceability, farm certifications.
  • Creating upstream Agri solutions for existing and potential clients engaged in various farm production activities.
  • Developing quarterly, monthly & weekly sales plans in collaboration with team members and monitoring their execution.
  • Preparing compelling business proposals for different potential clients and consistently achieving set targets.
  • Ensuring continuous tracking of potential or advertised tenders and aiding in the preparation of professional responses.
Required Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and outstanding organizational abilities.
  • Capability to engage in physically demanding tasks such as travels and field studies and deliver reports within specified timelines.
Analytical and numerical skills:
  • Proficiency in interpreting agricultural field and testing reports in alignment with national and international standards and/ or references.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly excel spreadsheet, power point, and word.
  • Familiarity with Kenyan agricultural legislations, regulations, requirements, and reference sources, market testing needs, standards, certification.
  • Experience with Agricultural inspections; Plant & Soil Testing; SPS, IPM & other international testing protocols.
  • Experience with certifications - GlobalGap; RFA; ISO & Sustainability protocols (EUTR, UKTR, EUDR, FSC&PEFC) ISO 17025, ISO 17020, ISO 17065, ISO 17021.
  • Demonstrated strong inclination for hands-on work and attention to detail in either academic or professional pursuits.
  • Ability to multitask, manage shifting priorities, and see through projects with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
  • MSc in Agronomy or Agricultural Sciences.
Age:
  • Above 30 years or 5 years of working experience.
  • 5 years of sales or business development experience preferably in TIC company.
  • Good grasp of SPS & IPM.
  • Solid knowledge & experience with donor-funded agricultural, agronomy, or CBO & NGO projects.
  • Sound understanding of sustainability and sustainable agriculture.
