AGEMCC Coordinator Scope of Work

The AGEMCC Coordinator will lead the day-to-day management of the competition to ensure a well-coordinated, successful, and impactful competition in line with the aims of the competition established by the competition organizers.

Scope of Work and Deliverables

The AGEMCC Coordinator will be responsible primarily for the following; however, additional tasks may be assigned as needed for the success of the moot court competition.

Such roles shall be agreed upon between the moot court coordinator and Equality Now.

Administrative Coordination:
Coordinate planning meetings between AGEMCC organizers and the organizing committee, taking notes and following up on action points.
Coordinate the implementation and follow-up of decisions with different actors.
Provide administrative coordination for the AGEMCC, planning and executing virtual and in-person aspects of the competition.
Assist in coordinating logistical arrangements for participants and judges, which involves managing Zoom sessions for the virtual rounds.

Additionally, collaborate with the finance and administrative team to organize transportation and accommodation for participants and judges during the in-person rounds.

Collating and analyzing scores from the judges after each round and compiling the score sheets, and submitting them to the moot coordinating team.

Preparing the schedules and coordinating the timely flow of the different rounds and parallel courts, including ensuring that all participants and judges log in on time.

Keep a record of accurate details of participants and judges to facilitate internet reimbursements, payment of honorarium to judges, and issuance of certificates.

Recruitment, coordination, and management of court bailiffs for the different rounds.

Communication and Participant Support:
Coordinate and facilitate virtual information sessions with moot court participants as a trainer.
Serve as the primary point of contact for participating teams, providing them with essential information, updates, and resources.

Act as the primary contact for all communication with moot court participants regarding scheduling, fiscal support, record management, and rules enforcement.

Oversee the management of the moot court email address, ensuring timely responses to emails and appropriate distribution of relevant messages to the respective recipients.

Communicate announcements and/or relevant information with competition participants, judges, university representatives, and audience members, ensuring smooth logistics.

Assist with external communications and publicity efforts for the competition, drafting and editing social media posts, press releases, statements, and marketing materials.


Evaluation and feedback:
Prepare summaries of competition evaluations, including feedback from judges and participants, with recommendations for program improvement.

Prepare a comprehensive report after the competition analyzing the success of moot court competitions, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, along with proposed strategies for enhancement in subsequent competitions.

Deliverables

Meeting minutes documenting discussions and action points from planning meetings.
Training materials, including presentations, handouts, and case materials.
Weekly update/progress reports.
Final report summarizing the outcomes of the competition, including participant feedback, key achievements, and recommendations for future events.

Relevant Skills/Experience

First degree in law, international relations, gender studies, human rights, or the humanities required. Candidates with moot court experience are highly encouraged to apply.
At least two years of experience coordinating regional or national moot court competitions is required.
A minimum of two years of experience supporting human rights, gender equality, or women's empowerment is required.

Solid legal analysis and writing skills, as well as an understanding of the AGEMCC theme and sound knowledge of international and regional instruments on women's rights.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French required.

Demonstrable skills and experience in communicating with a wide range of actors, including high-level representatives from national governments and intergovernmental organizations, judicial and quasi-judicial institutions at the national and regional levels, academia, and civil society, as well as with students, university administrators, and members of the public.

Strong dispute-resolution skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex problems when they arise.

Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Strong time management skills and the ability to work across multiple time zones.
Excellent professionalism, including a commitment to upholding high confidentiality, competence, integrity, accountability, and credibility standards.
