SUMMARY


An International school situated in the Rift Valley region of Kenya is looking for an individual to assume the role of a Headmaster of the school.

They are seeking a diverse, dynamic, and education-focused Head Teacher to join their education community.

The ideal candidate should a have a wealth of teaching experience with the know-how of how to run a school in line with regulatory authority procedures.

The focus of the role is to manage teaching staff, ensure the curriculum is followed, and ensure the safety and healthy learning of students.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee teaching at the school and ensure the classes are covering and meeting the requirements set out by the governing body.

Develop and implement effective processes for the learning and development of children.
Manage the reviews of teachers and other teaching staff within the school community.

Ensure that protocol is followed for any untoward situations that arise, such as assault within the school, instability of students' mental health, and safeguarding of students.

Implement safeguarding procedures as required.
Manage the staff cash imprest expenditures surrender and requests for school excursions
Arrange and oversee parent-teacher meetings.
Prepare the teachers, students, and other staff members for inspections conducted by the regulatory authority.
Provide reports on academic performance improvements to the board of governors.
Create a diverse, dynamic, and inclusive environment among the teachers and students.
Ability to delegate and coordinate the senior staff to implement and monitor the school strategic plan.
Be conversant with the performance management process
Interact with school parent body in order to bring out effective communication with the stakeholders
Responsible for leading and managing the school supported by the Heads of department and the
Ability to work in a committee type of organization
Be able to work in tandem with the Chief Administration Officer to achieve the school objectives

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in education, teaching, or specialized subject is preferred
A Master's degree in education, teaching, or specialized subject is an added advantage
Valid teaching certificate – TSC Registered minimum 10 years teaching experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching children of varying ages in British curriculum.
Minimum of 2 year's experience as an assistant head teacher or Headteacher in a reputable school
Teaching experience in British curriculum
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficient with the use of computer programs, report writing, and forecasting
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong understanding of safeguarding practices
Demonstrated ability to implement processes, and procedures and follow compliance
Good problem-solving abilities
Able to adapt quickly and professionally to a changing environment
Good understanding of health and safety regulations
