Kenya Forest Service is a corporate body established under the Forest Conservation and Management Act no 34 of 2016 (henceforth referred to as the Act).

The Act which was operationalized on 31st March 2017, gave the Service's mandate as "to provide for the development and sustainable management, including conservation and rational utilization of all forest resources for the socioeconomic development of the country and for connected purposes".

PILOT - REF KFS/P/202- KFS GRADE POSITIONS

Entry Requirements :
Valid Commercial Pilot's License (CPL) (or Airline Transport Pilot's License (ATPL));
20/20 vision (or correctable to 20/20);
Certificate of Good Conduct;
Relevant aircraft type rating;
Valid and current instrument rating for fixed wing pilot. This would be an added advantage for rotor pilots;
A minimum of 250 hours.
Gas turbine proficiency;
Performance A proficiency;
Proficient in verbal and written English;
Sound Knowledge on Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations
Proficiency in Computer applications
Fulfils the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

An officer at this level shall report to a Senior officer.
Duties and responsibilities;

Assisting in Operating the aircraft machine and associated equipment in flight or ground.
Assisting in Performing Pre- and Post-Flight aircraft inspections
Assisting in Performing Pre-Flight planning
Assisting in Completing all pertinent aircraft and flight documentation in a timely manner.

Assisting in ensuring proper loading of cargo in accordance to the weight and balance limitations and also in accordance with dangerous goods manual.

Acting as principal assistant of the Pilot in Command during a flight mission.
Assisting in creating a flight plan.
Assisting in fuelling the aircraft.
Assisting in ensuring communication with ground and air stations during flight missions.
