Job Overview:


The Accountant will manage the financial operations of the minimart, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient financial management.

In addition to accounting duties, the Accountant will occasionally handle administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the minimart.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, coupled with excellent organizational and administrative skills.
Requirements
Qualifications

Diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field. A professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in the retail or supermarket industry.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Prepare, analyze, and maintain accurate financial records, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Develop and monitor the minimart budget, ensuring that financial goals and targets are met.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer collections.
Manage payroll functions, including calculating employee salaries, benefits, and tax deductions, and ensure timely payroll processing.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns.
Monitor inventory levels, perform regular stock reconciliations, and report any discrepancies.
Prepare for and coordinate financial audits, providing auditors with necessary documentation and explanations.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure proper accounting practices and internal controls.
Utilize accounting software and tools to maintain financial records efficiently.
Monitor cash flow, oversee cash handling procedures, and manage banking relationships.
Provide financial guidance and advice to minimart management on cost-effective strategies and financial decisions.

Administrative Duties

Assist with general administrative duties as needed.
Manage office supplies and inventory.
Handle correspondence, phone calls, and emails.
Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments.
Maintain a clean and organized office environment.
