Key Responsibilities:
Programmatic and technical support for nutrition projects

Ensure all grant nutrition interventions are implemented within schedule, plans and budgets and regularly review project status.
Ensure that nutrition interventions are integrated and inclusive of gender, child protection, disability, Christian commitment and advocacy.
Ensure identification of local needs and resources and take appropriate programming measures.
Ensure development of quality project Annual work plans, budgets and Detailed Implementation Plan, 4D matrix and use.

Manage and coordinate the FONSAREP field staff ensuring competent and motivated staff as well as manage performance of staff and encourage on-the-job coaching, identify and address learning and training needs and opportunities.

Provide effective, innovative and strategic coordinating role in the FONSAREP implementation.

Ensure that all FONSAREP initiatives within the project's area of influence meet or exceed planned outcomes and are implemented timely.

Implement interventions in accordance with established norms, policies aligned to acceptable financial & operational audit results.
In coordination with FONSAREP and Project Accountant, manage and report on project budget and funds utilization.

Quality assurance for programmatic Designs, Assessments, Monitoring and Evaluation processes

Ensure timely mobilization and effective communication with communities and stakeholders during baselines and evaluations.

Ensure monthly monitoring of project indicators and facilitate regular reflections on monitoring practice to make improvements with community and partners.

Ensure collection and collation of nutrition information on online platforms among them District Health Information System, WV CMAM database and share with relevant stakeholders among them MoH and WV Support Offices.

In liaison with M&E officer coordinate project evaluations and assessment.
Ensure timely submission of quality reports (Annual, Semi-annul and Monthly Management Reports) in line with WV/grant reporting guidelines.
Identify, document and disseminate promising practices on nutrition within the grant.
Participate and/convene County forums for sharing and learning while involving project stakeholders.

Coordinate with the M&E and Capacity Building coordinator to ensure that appropriate controls, monitoring and evaluation tools are in place and being utilized in a timely manner.

Ensure the project achieves Child Well-Being Outcomes in line with the organization's Ministry Framework and Development Approach, and WVK's strategic priorities and the project designs.

Ensure that accurate and quality project implementation plan (PIP), Annual work plans (AWP) and 4D matrix are developed and utilized.

Monitor monthly project expenditure.

Advocacy, Engagement, Coordination, Networking & Partnerships.

Effective representation of WVK in key stakeholder forums relevant to the project.

Map resource mobilization opportunities at local level and develop concepts and proposals in collaboration with regional and national office teams.

Ensure close working collaboration with key Government line ministries and other likeminded partners.
Collaborate with line ministries and departments in providing technical support and assistance to the project.

Support implementing staff to successfully engage with key internal and external stakeholders, including other WVK entities, Community, church and other civil society representatives in order to maximize the impact of interventions.

In collaboration with Area Programs team members and National Office (NO) participate in appropriate donor engagement activities.

Support timely development of funding proposals in line with donor requirements and WVK standards in collaboration grants acquisition department.

Build and maintain effective communications and pro-active relationships with partners at the counties, including visits by donors.

Enhanced Empowerment & Capacity building.

In laison with nutrition advisor, identify capacity building gaps among nutrition project staff and put in place a capacity building plan.

Lead the capacity building initiatives for project staff, communities and partners to enable them effectively advocate for and implement project interventions.

Ensure ongoing coaching and mentoring of project staff to be able perform achieve results.

Resource Acquisition

Identify funding gaps related to health and nutrition and develop concepts for fundraising solicitation.
Provide data and nutrition information that will aid in fundraising for available funding opportunities.

Others

Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Cluster Manager.

Knowledge/Qualifications for the Role:

A minimum of 5 years' experience in nutrition programming at community level, two of which must be in a supervisory level.

Additional training in Community health nutrition and or food security will be an added advantage.

Good understanding of Ministry of health/Agriculture systems, Nutrition programming models, standards and guidelines , Ministries of Health/Agriculture structures (Value Chains Development and livelihoods projects) at county and national levels and networking with other partners.

Familiarity of national Nutrition policy and advocacy instruments and structures.
First-hand experience in Nutrition community resilience programming.
Significant experience working with an NGO environment, community and people's groups, state institutions etc.
Experience in project management and staff supervision.
Minimum of Bachelor degree in Nutrition, or their equivalent related field
MUST be registered with relevant health associations such e.g., Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute. Effective in written and verbal communication in English

Experience in conducting health and nutrition surveys using SQUEAC, Lot Quality Assurance Survey (LQAS), Open Data Kit or ENA-SMART methodologies is an added advantage.

Demonstrated experience of working with Ministries of Health, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Agriculture and other structures at county and national levels and networking with other partners.
