Store & Inventory Officer (Athi River)

To achieve this, we're seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Store & Inventory Officer to join our team.

About the Role:

You will play a crucial role in managing the flow of materials and finished products within our yard, ensuring accurate inventory records and smooth operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will range from receiving and storing materials

to coordinating product movements and overseeing inventory discrepancies.

Responsibilities:

● Material & Product Management:

○ Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials and finished precast products.

○ Assign appropriate storage locations and maintain organized and efficient yard layout.

○ Coordinate product movements within the yard, using forklifts or other material handling equipment (training provided).

○ Perform periodic inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accuracy.

○ Manage and update inventory records using a computerized system.

○ Track expiration dates of materials and implement proper disposal procedures.

● Documentation & Reporting:

○ Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inventory movements, receipts, and disbursements.

○ Generate regular reports on inventory levels, usage, and discrepancies.

○ Utilize data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in store/inventory management.

○ Liaise with other departments on material and product availability.

● Safety & Compliance:

○ Enforce all safety regulations and company safety protocols within the yard area.

○ Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards promptly.

○ Ensure proper maintenance of yard equipment and report any malfunctions.

● Additional Responsibilities:

○ Assist with loading and unloading of trucks and trailers.

○ Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and storage areas.

○ Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

● Diploma or equivalent, with relevant experience in warehouse/inventory management preferred.

● Strong understanding of inventory control principles and procedures.

● Proficient in MS Office Suite and inventory management software (preferred).

● Excellent organizational and time management skills.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● Detail-oriented and meticulous, with a commitment to accuracy.

● Strong physical fitness for activities like lifting, packing, and operating equipment.

● Valid forklift operator license (optional, but a plus).

● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
