Summary: Maintain biomedical equipment, ensure quality patient care, and collaborate with the application group to develop a scheduled maintenance program.
Biomedical Equipment Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing biomedical equipment to improve patient care. Key responsibilities include:
- Installing new equipment, calibrating, and testing performance.
- Maintaining inventory of equipment and analyzers.
- Evaluating equipment safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Providing technical support and explaining correct operation to users.
- Collaborating with the application group on scheduled maintenance.
- Documenting information and resolving technical problems.
- Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to safe working practices.
- Ensuring duty of care for colleagues, patients, and the organization.
Requirements for the position include:
- Minimum BSc in Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
- Registration with the Association of Medical Engineers of Kenya.
- 2-3 years of working experience.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
