We have two Schemes, Defined Benefits (DB) Scheme, 'old scheme' and Defined Contributions (DC) Scheme, 'new scheme'.

The main purpose of the schemes is to provide cash benefit and pensions for permanent and pensionable employees of Kenya Pipeline Company upon retirement or withdrawal from employment as well as a relief for the dependents of the deceased employees.

Efforts have been put in place by the Board of Trustees and the scheme's stake holders towards the realization of this dream.

The DB Scheme was established under an irrevocable trust declared from 1st January 1977 and was closed to new entrants and accrual of benefits with effect from 30th June 2006.

Upon the closure of the DB scheme, the DC Scheme was born and established under an irrevocable trust from 1st July 2006, which is its commencement date, and the governance of the scheme is vested on the Board of Trustees

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The holder will assume responsibility for the general property management of the facility at Kenpipe Gardens – Kitengela.

They will supervise services provision of contracted service providers who have been engaged to undertake specific roles such as supervision of the provision of services such as security, cleaning, garbage collection, and service level maintenance of equipment to ensure minimum disruption to core activities.

They will also be expected to produce periodic reports on a timely basis to be communicated to the Investment Team.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure that the property is in a good state of maintenance and repair(buildings, grounds, auxiliary machinery and equipment).
Ensure regular property inspection.
Run and maintain the Water Treatment Plant.
Undertake minor repair works (electrical, plumbing, painting).
Undertake property maintenance- tasks including groundwork (lawn mowing).
Assist in the development and implementation of routine property maintenance schedules and associated budgets.
Recommend timely repairs.

Recommend improvements such as renovations and efficiency enhancing solutions such as energy saving to Scheme properties to enhance value.

Assist in ensuring compliance with the terms of Contracts by all Residents (Tenant Purchase, Tenancy and Sales Agreements).
Supervise Casuals who may be engaged occasionally on a need basis.
Assist in the supervision of maintenance and repair works undertaken on the property.
Invoicing of rent as well as invoicing of Tenant Purchase Scheme (TPS).
Support the Assistant Investment Officer on any related duties as may be assigned.
Provide periodical reports on a timely basis to be communicated to the Investment Team.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering or any other equivalent qualification.
Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access).

Must have at least 8 years of working experience in estate management, 3 years of which must be post qualification.

Must be fluent in both spoken and written English and Swahili.
Must have a valid certificate of good conduct.
Ability to diagnose and carry out minor housing estate related repairs.
Must have supervisory skills with high emotional intelligence ability to
communicate with residents and potential tenants or buyers.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and have marketing skills.
