The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) works to improve food security and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for better and more sustainable use of livestock. ILRI is a CGIAR research centre – part of a global research partnership for a food-secure future.
JOB SUMMARY
RequirementsMaster's degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Statistics or closely related fields.A minimum of 3 years' work experience in academia, the private sector, a development[1]oriented research organization or comparable institution in the area of impact evaluation.Knowledge of microeconomic theory and applied quantitative econometric methodsKnowledge of recent agricultural development and/or applied microeconomics literatureExcellent knowledge of STATAExcellent interpersonal skills and to work in a team-oriented multi-cultural environmentDemonstrated ability to multi-task as needed, meet deadlines and manage time wellAbility to work independently and with initiativeDemonstrated fluency in written and spoken EnglishDemonstrated professional level of attention to detail and accuracy of workApplicants should send a cover letter and CV explaining their interest in the position, what they can bring to the job and the names and addresses (including telephone and email) of three referees who are knowledgeable about the candidate's professional qualifications and work experience to the Director, People and Organizational Development by clicking on the "Apply Now" tab above before 1 July 2024. RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate the collection of household and agricultural data across studies in severalcountries (e.g. coordinate questionnaire design, monitor quality of incoming data in real-time)Prepare large and complex datasets from multiple sources for analysis; and analyze thesedata using advanced econometric methods with general guidanceConduct literature reviews and syntheses relatively independently, with general guidanceContribute to drafting reports and research papers from large projects; lead the writing ofdata-driven project reports and outputs such as blogs, videos and briefs of small projectsEstablish relationships with key stakeholders externally and internally, and contribute to their capacity developmentSupervise consultants hired for specific tasks to several projects, and across several countriesContribute to proposal development, as well as study inception and designDevelop new data management proceduresMake decisions within generally defined research protocolsOther duties as assigned
