Housing Finance Company of Kenya was incorporated as the premier mortgage Finance Institution in Kenya licensed under the Banking Act with the CDC and the GoK owning 60% and 40% respectively.

Accountabilities

Credit Asset Quality Reporting - Collating data from various systems, analysing and providing timely MIS loan portfolio management reports to support the divisions strategic goals.

This includes generating reports on a Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual basis including Arrears Reports, Overdraft Reports, Funded Accounts Reports, Products Reports, Segment Reports including (Commercial Banking, Business Banking (SME) Reports, Retail Banking Reports, Special Assets Report, Monthly Outlook Reports and Digital Lending Reports.

Analysing productivity and performance reports for Credit Collections, Remedial Management and Special Assets teams on a daily basis in support of business objectives and commitments/targets.

Allocating collection officers portfolio in arrears for follow-up and recoveries on a monthly and weekly basis.

Preparing Early watch Reports and Overdraft reports and tracking comments from respective RMS through the Reginal Branch Business Managers and tracking for closure actions relating to addressing the Overdrafts.

Preparing Loan Drawdown reports and tracking against targets, preparing restructure reports on a monthly basis for CBK reporting and Finance reporting.

Digital Lending – Develop, operationalize, monitoring and reporting.
Monitoring and reviewing whizz loan transactions as per the laid down procedures.
Verifying whizz limit restoration score card on a monthly basis and new scorecards approved during the year.

Monitoring whizz score card performance, making recommendations based on their performance and statutory reporting to Central bank on a monthly basis.

Running and submission of Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) reports – both daily and monthly submissions and address customer related issues/data updates in liaison with Collections and ICT teams.

Preparing and collating Management Lending Committee (MLC) reports and presentations on a monthly basis and circulating to the members on time.

This included Digital Reports and Portfolio Management Report Summary.

Designing Credit related Performance Dashboard for Credit and Business Segments to facilitate business decisions and collaborating with cross-functional teams to assist in identifying business insights geared towards meeting the strategic objectives of the Bank.

Automation of reports through scripting e.g. Excel Macros and other available scripting languages and designing a database to store Credit and Portfolio data e.g. through Data Warehouse extracts or designing local databases e.g. MS Access.
Design dynamic presentations through visualization tools e.g. Power BI and linking to the source data and sharing with respective teams.

Support annual Audit Process – both interim and end of year audit process by coordinating and provision of requested data and files to the audit team.

Running CBK provisions on a monthly basis and provision of IFRS provisions input data to the consultants for quarterly IFRS model preparation and run.

Prepare CBK Reporting and KMRC monthly returns and collate quarterly survey responses and share with Finance for onward submission.

Support Systems Automation and Upgrade of both CMS and Core Banking on matters relating to Credit.

Upskills other credit data analysts on principles of data extraction, transformation and visualization and track use and implementation of data measurement tools.

Adhere to agreed SLAs and negotiate timelines on reporting requirements with the stakeholders while ensuring development of standardized reports.

Manages and resolves escalated queries regarding data requirements/queries to ensure accuracy in reporting.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Academic Qualifications.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Information Technology or related field.
Certification in Credit or Risk Management (preferred).
Data analytics, Statistics or Statistical modelling.
Lending Risk Management.
Scripting knowledge e.g. Excel Macros and SQL scripting.
Presentation skills e.g. Power BI, MS Power Point and Report writings e.g. MS Word.

Experience.

Minimum 5 years working experience with exceptional background of utilizing data from diverse financial information systems to build models that inform organizational decision-making capabilities resulting to increased productivity.

Experience in the extraction, transformation and visualization of data using bank tools e.g. SQL, Python.

Experience in data mining and business intelligence development and coming up with insights that can be used to derive business value.
