JOB SUMMARY

We have an excellent opportunity available for an experienced Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) & Security Lead to make a difference at Upfield in the strategically important region of the East African Markets.The role encompasses effective implementation of the security policy, procedures and periodic revision in line with dynamic threat environment.The responsibility is broad as you will also be required to drive and facilitate the implementation of the Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) systems in line with corporate standards and guidelinesThis role will report directly to the Head of Factory and with regular exposure to the senior management team, it is therefore critical you can communicate effectively and be confident.Skills, Experience And QualificationsDegree in Engineering/Quality/Safety/Environment/Social sciences/Humanities /CriminologyA holder of security competency skills certificates or diploma an added advantageAt least 5 years' relevant experience in a SHE & Security roleSound SHE & Security investigation and report writing skillsExperience managing in-house 3P security guards/personnelExperience working with physical and electronic security access systemsCrisis management experience with impeccable judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

So, what does it take to be successful in this role?In Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) You WillDrive and facilitate the implementation of the Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) systems in line with corporate standards and guidelines; Legislative requirements and Business process requirementsCo-ordinate monitor and audit all SHE activities related to the businessCustodian of the business SHE system and ensures that adequate data and document management practices are adhered toDrive and collate general SHE risk assessments and co-ordinate SHE related contracts e.g. Fire Equipment, contractors & service providersDeliver SHE training programs, liaising with regulatory authorities, independent SHE audit bodies and the Upfield SHE teamFormulate and prepare legal appointments in terms of regulatory and system requirements.Drive an independent Safety culture through the courage to care initiatives and role modelling safety in the organizationReport on Safety KPIs accurately and leading in their improvements.In Security You WillImplement security awareness programs or processes to protect life, corporate assets and to ensure business continuityDo continuous Security Risk Assessment and provision of mitigation action to the BusinessBe a critical member of the Crisis Management Team to ensure protection of employees and company assets at all timesEffectively audit and guide 3P security service provision companies in terms of fit for purpose performance and adherence/compliance with agreed SLAsDevise and co-ordinate appropriate security training for security personnel and other nominated personnelManage effective investigations on detected and reported breaches of security and security incidentsLiaise with various law enforcement and emergency services in the event of a security incident/emergency to ensure timely response to incidents.
