JOB SUMMARY

RequirementsQualifications required:Minimum KCSE certificate.Licence in overhead crane operationsAt least 1 year experience operating overhead remote controlled cranes

RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to health and Safety guidelines, safe work practise and good housekeeping (wear PPEs at all times).Operate the cranes as per production and dispatch requirements.Ensure safe use of the crane by inspecting the conditions of lifting wire rope before and during use and recording observations of all checked items as per crane inspection checklist.Ensure proper balancing of loads to avoid damaging of material, equipments and injury to other employees and customers.Ensure the lifting tongs are secured with felt pads at all times to avoid creating edges damages on coils.Report any crane malfunctioning to the maintenance / production supervisors for corrective action.Carry out any other activity as instructed by the line supervisor.Carry out autonomous maintenance and housekeeping on cranes.
