Responsibilities


The main objective of the SAPPHIRE project is to achieve effective long-term ecosystem management in the WIO Large Marine Ecosystems in line with the Strategic Action Programme for sustainable management of the WIO Large Marine Ecosystems as endorsed by the participating countries.

The SAPPHIRE project seeks a consultant to prepare course material and deliver a leadership workshop for senior leaders, officials and policy makers in marine policy and ocean governance.

The workshop seeks to empower leaders and promote networking to influence marine policy formulation, decision making and implementation.

The workshop contributes to SAPPHIRE's Outcome 5.1 which seeks to strengthen capacity for improved ocean governance through training and support.

Duties and Responsibilities
Develop course material, including a timetable, for the workshop and make them available to the participants.
Facilitate the workshop as per the agreed timetable.
Prepare a workshop report.

Qualifications/special skills

University degree is required in Business Economics, Management, Commerce, Communication, Psychology, International Development and/or other related disciplines relevant to the assignment.

A minimum of 5 years working experience in leadership development processes, coaching and mentorship is required

Working knowledge of the Western Indian Ocean (WIO) region and experience of working with the Governments of the region would be desirable.

Ability to work within very short timelines and with minimum supervision with be added advantage.
