Our approach combines rainwater harvesting pans with solar-powered drip irrigation systems, bundled up with full-stack services such as agronomy support and training in regenerative agriculture best practices

Responsibilities:

Design and Planning:
Develop detailed designs for irrigation systems including drip irrigation, sprinkler systems, rain hose systems and surface irrigation.
Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine the most suitable irrigation solutions.
Create blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings for irrigation projects.
Manage a team of junior technicians

Installation and Implementation:
Oversee the installation of irrigation systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
Provide technical guidance and support during the installation process.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Develop maintenance schedules and protocols to ensure the optimal performance of irrigation systems.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to irrigation systems, including leaks, blockages, and equipment malfunctions.
Perform regular inspections and repairs to maintain system efficiency and longevity.

Research and Development:
Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in irrigation engineering.
Conduct research and field trials to test new irrigation methods and technologies.
Provide recommendations for improvements and innovations in irrigation practices.

Training and Support:
Train farmers and field staff on the operation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users.
Develop training materials and manuals for irrigation system users.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in designing and implementing irrigation systems.
Strong knowledge of irrigation methods, technologies, and equipment.
Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools.
Familiarity with soil science, hydrology, and water management principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering or a related field.
Certification in irrigation design or water management.
Experience with IoT and precision agriculture technologies. (added advantage)
Knowledge of local agricultural practices and climate conditions in Kenya.
