Conservation International - Policy Manager for Africa

About Us: Conservation International is a USA based non-profit organization focused on protecting nature to ensure food, water, livelihoods, and a stable climate.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with CI country programs to influence national climate policies
  • Lead efforts to incentivize restoration efforts in key countries
  • Develop and implement a multi-year policy strategy for Africa
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders
  • Provide leadership and support to the Africa Policy team
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, international affairs, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in non-profit public policy or Government in Africa
  • Understanding of government processes in Africa
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Fluency in English; French or Portuguese is a plus
  • Experience in climate change and biodiversity policy development
  • Ability to manage and mentor a diverse team
Location:

The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya

Working Conditions:
  • Normal office environment with travel required
  • Availability for pressing business needs
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree
