Job Description

The Principal quality assurance (QA) Engineer will report to the Group Head of Transition Management, being an expert in Quality Engineering and Software Development. This individual will offer technical guidance for designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks, evaluating test cases, ensuring test coverage, and automating new functionalities.

The role also involves collaborating with software developers, engineers, architects, project managers, and technical delivery managers to establish and adhere to quality procedures, standards, and specifications. The aim is to deliver top-notch products efficiently. Additionally, the Principal QA Engineer plays a crucial role in reviewing solution architectures and designs to ensure alignment with industry best practices and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, customization, deployment, and maintenance of robust test automation frameworks for all systems and applications.
  • Conduct various testing types like Unit, API, Integration, system testing, and automated regression testing. Collaborate with developers for defect analysis and resolution, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Plan and execute non-functional tests such as performance, security, stress, and business continuity testing. Validate solutions against set benchmarks before production deployment.
  • Create strategies for non-functional testing, develop test scenarios, manage test data requirements, and ensure preparedness for testing activities.
  • Contribute to test plan reviews, design inspections, and test case evaluations to promote test-driven development across teams.
  • Participate in Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Development (CD) models, build execution pipelines, and integrate automation scripts.
  • Support solution deployments, address post-deployment issues, and engage in solution architecture discussions to ensure alignment with requirements.
  • Coach QA Engineers on test automation best practices and frameworks, promoting a culture of quality.
  • Oversee and maintain Test Environments both on-premise and on cloud platforms.
The Person

The ideal candidate for this role should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications like ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA, CAST, CMSQ, or ISTQB Agile Tester.
  • Minimum of 6 years of IT experience with a focus on Business Analysis, Architecture, or Software Development Quality Assurance.
  • At least 4 years in Technical Software Quality Assurance and 3 years in Software Testing Automation utilizing tools like Selenium Web driver, Katalon Studio, Robot Framework, REST Assured, Cucumber, HP Load Runner, or JMeter.
  • Experience in Agile methodology, software QA processes, and DevOps concepts.
  • Familiarity with Software Development and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.
