Job Overview:
UniQare Medical Laboratories is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technologist Assistant to join its Nairobi Branch operations. This role will involve conducting laboratory tests, analyzing results, and ensuring the efficient operation of laboratory equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical laboratory science and be proficient in laboratory techniques and equipment. They will also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sample Collection & Preparation: Receive, label, and prepare samples for testing, following standardized procedures to ensure sample integrity.
  • Testing & Analysis: Perform laboratory tests using appropriate techniques, instruments, and protocols, analyze data, interpret results, and document findings accurately.
  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain lab instruments, calibrate equipment, and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct routine quality control checks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, document and report any deviations from expected results.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to laboratory safety guidelines, including the handling of hazardous materials.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all laboratory procedures and results, prepare technical reports and summaries for supervisors or clients.
  • Collaboration: Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth functioning of lab operations, assist in training new staff or interns as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science.
  • Certification: Must be Registered by KMLTTB.
  • Experience: Experience will be an added advantage.
