About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Programme Coordinator to join our team at OCHA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the CITES MIKE Programme activities, including implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of its associated projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and supervise all actions required for the effective implementation of the MIKE programme, including developing and evaluating programme activities and projects;
  • Manage human resources related to MIKE Programme staff, project personnel, and consultants, including overseeing recruitment and ensuring timely delivery of services and outputs;
  • Compile, manage, and analyze MIKE data and present results and recommendations to participating national governments, decision-makers, and other stakeholders;
  • Evaluate the MIKE Programme's operations and initiate improvements to enhance its technical and scientific robustness;
  • Represent the CITES Secretariat at workshops/meetings related to the MIKE Programme or relevant to CITES processes;
Requirements:
  • Advanced University degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in natural resource management, business administration, project management, or a related area;
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience in programme/project management, including at least five (5) years of work experience in regional and international organizations;
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French or Spanish is desirable;
  • The ability to conduct independent research and analysis, and to convey resulting information to management;
  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics or related areas is desirable.
