The International Finance Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Investment Officer to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya.
This role will be part of the Corporate Finance Advisory Department, which focuses on providing advisory services to clients across various sectors, including infrastructure, energy, and financial institutions.
As an Associate Investment Officer, you will be responsible for executing new business strategies, identifying opportunities, and working closely with clients to deliver high-quality services.
Your key duties will include:
- Supporting the execution of buy-side and sell-side advisory, restructuring advisory, and equity mobilization services across Continental Africa.
- Creating detailed financial models and analyzing historical and projected financial statements.
- Carrying out comprehensive industry and market research to identify potential opportunities.
- Preparing pitchbooks and marketing materials for internal and external dissemination.
- Monitoring and updating the pipeline of current and upcoming projects, and communicating updates to management as needed.
- Contributing to department-wide initiatives to improve systems and project delivery.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field, with a focus on finance and at least 6 years of experience.
- Experience in investment banking, private equity, and financial modeling, with a strong understanding of corporate finance.
- Prior exposure to client engagement, deal negotiations, and mandate-signing activities is highly valued.
- Excellent PowerPoint skills and attention to detail are essential.
- The ability to synthesize complex technical information and create clear, logical, compelling stories is critical.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment are required.
- Fluency in English is mandatory, with proficiency in Portuguese or French being an advantage.
- Knowledge of private sector participation/development issues and the ability to prioritize and deliver according to deadlines are also essential.
