As a key player in this effort, UNDP is seeking a highly qualified Programme Analyst - Peacebuilding and Development to join its team.
About the RoleThe Programme Analyst will be responsible for supporting the implementation of peacebuilding and development projects in Sudan, focusing on building the capacity of local institutions, promoting dialogue and reconciliation, and strengthening the resilience of communities affected by conflict. The role will involve close collaboration with project teams, partners, and stakeholders at national and international levels.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programme management, with experience in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and development programming. S/he will possess excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment. Fluency in English is required, with knowledge of Arabic an asset.
Key Responsibilities- Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of peacebuilding and development projects in Sudan;
- Build and maintain relationships with project partners, stakeholders, and counterparts at national and international levels;
- Conduct needs assessments, capacity building, and training activities to support local institutions and communities;
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to project teams on peacebuilding and development concepts, methodologies, and best practices;
- Collaborate with UNDP colleagues and partners to identify opportunities for synergies and coordination among programmes and projects;
- Contribute to the development of reports, briefs, and other documentation related to peacebuilding and development initiatives in Sudan.
To be successful in this role, the Programme Analyst will need to demonstrate:
- A Master's degree in a relevant field such as peace studies, conflict resolution, international relations, or development studies;
- At least 2 years of experience in programme management, peacebuilding, conflict resolution, or development programming;
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment;
- Fluency in English, with knowledge of Arabic an asset;
- Strong understanding of peacebuilding and development concepts, methodologies, and best practices;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering results and meeting deadlines.
