Learning Facilitator

Job Overview:
SWMANARAYAN ACADEMY EMBAKASI is seeking a highly skilled and organized Learning Facilitator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the library operations, providing research support to students and staff, and teaching them how to utilize various information systems.

About the Role:
The Library Information Specialist will work closely with teachers to develop research skills in students, assist with literature searches, and manage the library collection. Additionally, they will be responsible for maintaining the library's databases, organizing events, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
* Administer libraries and perform related library services, including selecting, acquiring, cataloguing, classifying, circulating, and maintaining library materials
* Provide reference, bibliographical, and readers' advisory services
* Teach/guide teachers, children/students on using the library database and other research tools
* Monitor and manage students when using the library facilities

Requirements:
* Degree/Diploma in Library and Information Science
* Degree/Diploma in Education (an added advantage)
* IT literate, confident, and efficient in using IT systems
* 2 years hands-on experience working in a school or other educational institutions
* Good organizational skills
* Ability to deal confidently with enquiries from library users
* Enthusiastic about and enjoy working constructively with students and teaching staff
* Ability to develop a culture of mutual respect with pupils
* Ability to work independently
* Must be professional, organized, and efficient
* Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
* Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally
