Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant with strong administration skills to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company's financial functions, including financial management, human resource management, and administration.

Financial Management Functions:

The Accountant will oversee the preparation of financial statements, manage accounts payable and receivable, ensure timely payment of statutory obligations, and maintain accurate records of financial transactions.

  • Manage cash flow, trial balance, balance sheet, profit & loss statement, and budgeting.
  • Prepare bank/cash book, debtors/creditors reconciliations.
  • Oversee petty cash preparation and management.
  • Maintain fixed assets register and define depreciation and disposal policy.

Human Resource Functions:

The Accountant will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining human resource policies and procedures. This includes recruitment, selection, orientation, placement, performance management, training, job classifications/reclassifications, job evaluations, and termination.

  • Secure relevant and adequate personnel insurance to minimize risk and liabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax laws, and any new/upcoming legislation.
  • Oversee preparation of monthly payroll and monitor salary adjustments.

Administration and Procurement/Operations Functions:

The Accountant will oversee the procurement of goods and services, receiving and dispatch of goods, purchase and management of office supplies and equipment, inventory management, and maintenance of office equipment.

  • Renewal of all relevant certificates, including business permits and compliance certificates.
  • Propose new acquisitions and maintain inventory register.


Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a degree in accounting or a related field and at least 2 years of experience in a similar position. You should have excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills, as well as proficiency in accounting software and systems.
