The position of Research Nurse offers a unique opportunity to spearhead the implementation of DREAMS/ASRH programs in various counties across Kenya and Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and supervising the technical aspects of these programs, including operational support and coordination with government institutions.
">Key Responsibilities:
">- Design and coordinate the implementation of DREAMS and ASRH program activities at facility and community levels.
- Forge enduring relationships with Ministry of Health officials to ensure easy access to health facilities and a synergistic effort in implementing DREAMS and ASRH programs.
- Ensure the adoption of national DREAMS and ASRH strategies into site-level implementation plans.
- Participate in strategic meetings and share program updates, progress on implementation plans, and challenges that need attention.
- Provide technical support to site coordinators in adopting a data-driven approach to resolving site-level challenges affecting the DREAMS and ASRH programs.
- Work with site coordinators to conduct assessments and supportive supervision of DREAMS and ASRH programs.
- Support the implementation of key DREAMS and ASRH activities, including HIV testing and counseling, post-violence care for survivors of gender-based violence, and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).
- Identify gaps and challenges impacting on DREAMS HIV prevention and promote site-level quality improvement solutions and/or adoption of best practices.
- Promote site-level DREAMS HIV prevention data analysis to improve quality of services and achievement of site targets.
Requirements:
">- Registered General Nurse or equivalent.
- Certificate in Rapid HIV Testing and Counselling is a must.
- At least two years of managing HIV interventions in the public health sector or NGO sector.
- Registration with the Nurses Council of Kenya and Tanzania.
- Research License to practice as a nurse in Kenya and Tanzania.
