Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to manage end-to-end procurement activities at our client's healthcare facility in Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing annual budgets and procurement plans, contracting processes, and maintaining suppliers' registers.

• Assist in preparing annual budgets and procurement plans.
• Manage the contracting process from creation to closure and maintain the suppliers' register.
• Receive, inspect, and accept/reject goods according to specifications, quality, quantity, and price on Local Purchase Orders.
• Maintain standards of operation in line with Hospital policies and protocols.

The ideal candidate will have excellent negotiation and communication skills, high integrity, and exceptional problem-solving abilities. They will work independently and as part of a team while upholding collective responsibility.

• Monitor supplier performance and review supply chain practices as needed.
• Develop supply options and contingency plans to avoid stockouts.
• Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics and production forecasts.
• SOURCE organization requirements competitively and develop cost forecasts.
• Monitor market trends, prices, and quality factors affecting supplies.
• Ensure low-cost spending while maintaining specifications and quality.
