Enabling Qapital Ltd. (EQ) is a FINMA-regulated, leading Swiss impact asset manager dedicated to a world where investments generate financial, social, environmental, and economic returns.
EQ currently manages USD 750 million in assets across Microfinance (Private Debt), Access to Energy / Clean Cooking, and listed emerging market bonds.

Role Summary
The
Portfolio Analyst
role is an excellent opportunity to use your skills and experience to contribute to a purposeful mission with global Impact. As a member of the Portfolio and Data Analytics (PDA) Team, you will play a pivotal role in working with Enabling Qapital's primary analytics tools, MIS, and fund models. The Portfolio Analyst is expected to have experience with complex financial models and enjoy leveraging those skills to develop EQ's analytical infrastructure. During the induction, they will learn about EQ's business model, processes, procedures, and methodologies, enabling them to contribute more effectively to improving EQ's analytical data and infrastructure.
The key functions of the role include:
- Provide analytical support to the Portfolio Managers and translate complex technical concepts into plain language.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Maintain and update funds' and initiatives' analytical tools and portfolio models.
- Prepare regular reports that provide analytical insights into multiple dimensions of the portfolio, including impact, profitability, risk, capital utilization, liquidity, etc.
- Conduct in-depth financial modeling and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare detailed country risk analysis reports identifying key risks (economic, political, industry, natural disasters, etc.) and mitigation factors, as well as update existing reports.
- Analyze patterns, risks, and performance of portfolio companies and of the funds to inform fund portfolio construction and support strategic decision making.
- Supporting cross-functional teams and projects, primarily Portfolio, Product Risk and Investments
The successful candidate will be expected to stay current on the latest portfolio analysis tools, techniques, and industry trends while also actively participating in continuous learning and development activities.
Who you are
We are looking for a highly motivated and outspoken candidate with working experience in banking or finance with a focus on lending and/or impact investing and a compelling personal background.
Key attributes and skills you bring to this exciting role are:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably with a focus on finance, economics, or mathematics.
- Demonstrate strong professional communication and presentation abilities, including both written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical skills in general; high level of proficiency in Excel specifically, and preparing financially oriented PowerPoint presentations
- Proficiency in programming for data analytics (SQL, Python) and proficiency with advanced data analytics software (Power BI) will be considered a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a numerical/analytical role.
- Demonstrate interest in impact investing, emerging markets development, SDG initiatives, green energy, or energy transition projects.
- Aptitude to work in a multinational and multicultural environment.
- Certifications such as FMVA (from CFI) or successful completion of the CFA are preferable.
- Hands-on experience with financial data vendors and understanding of market data structures.
- Stakeholder management skills with proven ability to work effectively across different teams and seniority levels internally and externally.
- Confident communicator: able to argue a point concisely and deal positively with conflicting views.
Whom will you work with
The portfolio analyst will work closely with the Portfolio Managers and the Analytics Team on EQ managed funds. The analyst will also liaise with EQ's Risk Management team to highlight key risks and support the Senior Management Team in gaining an overview of the fund analytics process.
