Procurement Director – Supply Chain
Role Description
The Procurement Director – Supply Chain is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that ensure cost efficiency, supply reliability, and operational excellence across the organization's global supply chain. This position focuses on building strong supplier partnerships, driving sourcing innovation, and optimizing end-to-end procurement processes to support business objectives. As the Procurement Director, you will oversee sourcing, contract management, supplier performance, and category management activities while ensuring alignment with sustainability and compliance standards.
You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders in Operations, Finance, Logistics, and Product Development to balance cost, quality, and delivery objectives. The role also involves identifying market trends, managing risk across the supply base, and leading initiatives to digitalize and modernize procurement functions. Through strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical capabilities, you will contribute to achieving strategic business goals and enhancing overall supply chain performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management.
- Proven ability to develop and implement global sourcing strategies that drive value creation and cost optimization.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including logistics, production planning, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement platforms (e.g., Ariba, Coupa).
- Excellent negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Analytical and strategic mindset with experience in spend analysis, category management, and risk mitigation.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
- Familiarity with sustainability, ESG principles, and compliance in global sourcing environments.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., German, French, Mandarin) are advantageous in an international context.
