Job Summary

The Electrical Tender Specialist is responsible for preparing, coordinating, and managing all tender and bid submissions for high-voltage power transmission, substation, and distribution projects. This role involves reviewing tender documents, performing technical and commercial analysis, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring that all bids are accurate, competitive, and compliant with client requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Tender Preparation & Coordination

  • Review and analyse tender documentation (technical specifications, drawings, and contractual terms).
  • Identify project scope, key deliverables, and risk factors.
  • Prepare and compile all technical and commercial tender submissions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, project management, and finance teams to gather relevant inputs.

Estimating & Costing

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for projects.
  • Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers, subcontractors, and equipment vendors.
  • Analyse material, labour, and equipment costs to ensure accurate and competitive bids.

Technical & Commercial Evaluation

  • Ensure technical compliance with client specifications and international standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare clarifications, deviations, and value engineering proposals as needed.

Bid Submission & Follow-Up

  • Manage the tender submission schedule to meet strict deadlines.
  • Prepare executive summaries and presentations for management review and final approval.
  • Liaise with clients for post-tender clarifications and negotiations.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and emerging technologies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and strategic partners.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in tendering, estimating, or proposals in the high-voltage power transmission, substation, or power distribution sector.
  • Strong understanding of HV/MV electrical systems, protection & control schemes, and substation design.
  • Familiarity with international standards and utility specifications.
