REPORTS TO: Deputy Secretary General-Programs
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing technical and professional leadership as well as strategic direction in the planning, designing, implementation and evaluation of an effective grants management and accountability system and sustainable Programs that address the needs in the community.
SCOPE OF THE ROLE:
• Internal Advisor proving Financial expertise
• A member of the management team
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• A member of the management team providing Technical, Advisory and Strategic service to Line Management and Staff whilst ensuring consistency and best practice in overall financial management
• Supervises the Programs Managers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide leadership in the design, planning and implementation of an integrated Grants and
• Quality Assurance systems (GQAs) for the GF programme and other operations aimed at
• facilitating decision-making processes and promoting accountability.
• Provide technical support to program implementation to ensure quality in programming and
• alignment to National policies, guidelines and strategies
• Finalize and submit quarterly financial reports for submission to KCM, our client, M&E unit & the Board.
• Act as the liaison between our client Grants unit and Global Finance technical advisor
• Supervise and provide technical support to Grants staff
• Oversee contract management
• Coordinate PR Program internal & external audits with Internal Audit Departments
• Monitor cash flow management for the entire grant
• Lead the our client team in preparation and submission of proposals with budgets in liaison with
• other partners.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement and evaluate strategic management plans to improvise organizational effectiveness.
• Track overall program absorption, adherence to budgets
Requirements DESIRED COMPETENCIES
• Demonstrate high levels of integrity and Decision making.
• Ability to interpret long term plans, programs and budgets developed at senior management level.
• Interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Business/Financial Acumen, Business Savvy, Innovative.
• Project management skills.
• Ability to develop plans, programs, SOPS, and coordination of workflows.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Commerce, Public Health or any other related field;
• CPA (K)/ACCA (UK) or equivalent professional qualification
• Minimum of eight (8) years' relevant experience in a similar organization with three (3) at supervisory level
