Role Description

This is an internship role for a Software Engineer Intern. The intern will be responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of software applications, focusing on both back-end and front-end development tasks. Daily tasks will include writing code, debugging, testing software applications, and participating in code reviews. This is a hybrid role based in Nairobi County, Kenya, which allows for some work-from-home flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge in Computer Science concepts
  • Skills in Software Development and Programming
  • Knowledge of Back-End Web Development and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) - experience with languages like
    Python, Java, or Go

preferred
- Knowledge of front-end frameworks -
React experience preferred
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Self-directed work style with excellent time management and accountability for project timelines
- Currently enrolled in or having completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or engineering related field
- Entrepreneurial mindset that considers both user experience and business value when building features
- Previous internship or entrepreneurship experience is a plus
- Mobile development in React Native or Flutter is a big plus
- Self-taught developers are highly encouraged to apply
- Experience with AI-powered IDEs

(Lovable, Cursor, Windsurf) is a plus
