Kenn & Associates Conference Solutions is a Nairobi-based language translation, interpretation, and conference events management company. We provide expert interpreters and translators in languages including English, Swahili, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, and more. We serve clients in Kenya, East and Central Africa, and beyond. Our services include the hiring of state-of-the-art simultaneous interpretation equipment (SIE), specifically Danish interpretation systems (DIS), both wired and wireless, coupled with experienced technicians to ensure seamless meetings.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Freelance Interpreter located in Nairobi County, Kenya. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting spoken language accurately during conferences and meetings, ensuring clear communication between parties. The interpreter must be able to handle simultaneous interpretations and work closely with technicians to ensure the proper functioning of interpretation equipment. Some traveling might be required within the service regions.

Qualifications

• Fluency in one or more of the following languages: English, Swahili, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish
• Proficiency in simultaneous and consecutive interpretation
• Experience in translating and interpreting in a professional setting
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent listening and comprehension skills
• Flexibility to travel as needed
• Bachelor's degree in Translation, Interpretation, Linguistics, or a related field preferred
• Experience with simultaneous interpretation equipment is a plus
