ROLE SUMMARY

Our client, an NGO running a secondary school in Narok County wishes to recruit a Biology and Agriculture Teacher to join their team of educators. The Biology and Agriculture Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to secondary school learners, preparing them for national exams, and fostering a positive learning environment. The teacher will develop lesson plans, assess learner progress, and collaborate with other staff to ensure the academic and personal growth of the learners.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in Biology and Agriculture.
  • Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Assess and record learners' progress and provide grades and feedback.
  • Prepare and administer formative and summative assessments.
  • Analyze data to inform teaching and identify areas for improvement.
  • ·Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual learners.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide support and guidance to learners for academic and personal development.
  • Identify and address the educational and emotional needs of learners.
  • Participate in professional development activities to improve teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Stay updated with current educational trends and best practices in Biology and Agriculture education.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.
  • Participate in departmental and school meetings, as well as parent-teacher meetings.
  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities and school events.
  • Adhere to the TSC teaching professional Code of Conduct as well as the organization's Professional Code of Conduct as outlined in the HR manual.
  • Any other job-related responsibilities that may be assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Interested applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education with a specialization in Biology and Agriculture or a related field.
  • Must have attained at least a C+ (Plus) mean grade at K.C.S.E and C+ in two teaching subjects.
  • ·

Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission.
- Must have at least 2 years' experience in service.
- Demonstrate expertise in both Biology & Agriculture concepts, with a strong understanding of pedagogical strategies.
- Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, or facilitating Biology & Agriculture education at various levels.
