Andishi is seeking an experienced Senior OpenStack DevOps Engineer to take full ownership of designing, automating, and supporting a large-scale OpenStack-based private cloud environment.

This is a remote contract role where you'll drive the project end to end, working independently to deliver a production-ready solution.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain a multi-tenant OpenStack cluster with high availability and scalability
  • Automate deployments, lifecycle management, and configurations using Ansible and Terraform
  • Integrate and optimize OpenStack services: Neutron, Octavia, Cinder, Nova, Ironic, Glance
  • Implement monitoring and observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki
  • Troubleshoot control/data plane issues and perform deep-dive analysis
  • Ensure secure tenant isolation, compliance, and disaster recovery readiness
  • Deliver documentation, runbooks, and provide knowledge transfer

Required Skills

  • 5+ years running OpenStack at production scale
  • Advanced automation with Ansible & Terraform
  • Expertise with Neutron overlays, Octavia load balancers, Cinder/Manila backends
  • Strong Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) with Bash/Python scripting
  • Understanding of virtualization, NUMA, SR-IOV, huge pages
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Ceph storage for Cinder/Glance
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident ownership skills
