Our client empowers smallholder farmers across Africa by transforming livestock from
vulnerable assets into secure, financially accessible resources. By providing digital and
operational infrastructure, they deliver critical health interventions, generate actionable data, and enable farmers to access credit,insurance, and formalized supply chains driving economic resilience and growth.
The Role
As Chief of Staff, you are the strategic governor and operational architect of our client's internal model. You will ensure the CEO's vision translates into disciplined, measurable execution across departments and countries. Your focus is on governance, alignment, and rhythm not direct functional management.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Alignment: Translate CEO vision and board mandates into cascaded quarterly execution plans. Lead OKR management, quarterly business reviews, and ensure synchronization across teams.
- Execution & Risk Management: Maintain a centralized Execution Dashboard, monitor project risks, and lead cross-functional interventions. Act as a bridge between HQ and field teams.
- Culture & Communication: Design internal communication systems, foster alignment, and facilitate cross-departmental problem-solving.
- CEO Partnership: Serve as strategic sounding board, prepare board/investor materials,and enforce accountability across the senior team.
- Month 1: Diagnose execution gaps; deliver an "Execution State Report" and 90-day alignment plan.
- Month 3: Implement unified operating rhythm, launch Execution Dashboard, achieve team adherence.
- Month 6: Optimize reporting and learning systems; co-develop annual strategy deck;scale pilot projects into playbooks.
- A system architect who turns organizational complexity into repeatable, scalable processes.
- An integrator who connects teams, priorities, and data into coherent action plans.
- A strategic governor focused on disciplined execution and measurable outcomes.
- Data-driven, calm under pressure, and decisive in high-stakes scenarios.
- A Degree in business-related course from a recognized university.
- Senior Leadership Experience: years in executive or Chief of Staff roles,translating vision into measurable results. Experience in Tech start-ups is desirable.
- Core Competences: communication & collaboration, strategic thinking, project & operations management, leadership & influence, problem-solving & decision-making,and stakeholder management.
- Operational Excellence: Skilled in building scalable processes, OKRs, and execution dashboards for multi-country teams.
- Data-Driven Mindset: Uses metrics and insights to drive accountability, manage risks, and optimize performance.
- Strong Communication & Integration: Bridges HQ and field teams, aligning cross-functional priorities and ensuring clarity.
