Job Purpose:

The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with standards, and contributing to strategic financial planning. The role involves risk management, cash flow oversight, internal control implementation, and providing financial insights to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; identify trends and provide insights.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Lead annual budget preparation; monitor and report on performance against forecasts.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance:
  • Develop controls to protect company assets; ensure compliance with tax and legal regulations; manage audits.
  • Cash Flow Management:
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure operational liquidity.
  • Financial Strategy & Decision Support:
  • Support strategic planning with financial insights; evaluate risks and investments.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Guide and mentor finance staff; foster a culture of development and collaboration.
  • Financial Systems & General Ledger Oversight:
  • Enhance financial systems for efficiency; manage ledger accuracy and internal audits.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure full compliance with financial laws and standards; handle regulatory reporting.

Key Results Areas & Performance Indicators:

  • Timely and accurate financial reporting with minimal errors.
  • Effective budget management with minimal variance.
  • Full compliance with audit, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong cash flow position supporting operational needs.
  • Clear financial insights provided for business decisions.
  • High-performing, well-supported finance team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • CPA, CFA, or similar certifications required
  • At least 7 years' of experience in financial management, with at least 4 years in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in financial software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle).
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles and compliance regulations.
