Registered in 2014, Global Programs isa wholly owned and controlled affiliate of the University of California, SanFrancisco (UCSF).Global Programsfacilitates the expanded presence and operations for researchers from UCSF andits affiliates, working in collaboration with key partners including theMinistry of Health, Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), donors and otherlocal and international partners to implement health programs across Kenya.Global Programsseeks to recruit a Statistician.Reportingto the Senior Statistician, the Statistician will be integral in data analysis,statistical modeling, and the preparation of reports, bulletins, andmanuscripts. The role is critical in providing insights to informdecision -making across various business functions. The ideal candidate willhave a strong passion for data analysis, excellent problem -solving abilities,and the capability to communicate complex statistical concepts effectively tonon -technical stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesThe keyresponsibilities of the Statistician will include:· Designand conduct statistical analyses to support data -driven decision -making.· Develop,implement, and maintain statistical models to improve results.· Performdata cleaning, preparation, and exploratory analysis to identify trends,patterns, and insights.· Collaboratewith cross -functional teams, including data scientists, epidemiologists, healthofficials, funders and decision -makers, to translate data insights intoactionable recommendations.· Prepareand present bulletins, reports, visualizations, and dashboards to effectivelycommunicate findings· Ensurethe integrity and accuracy of data throughout the analysis process.· Staycurrent with the latest statistical methods, tools, and best practices. Minimum RequirementsMaster's degree (or higher) in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.5+ years of experience in statistical analysis and modeling.At least 3 publications in peer reviewed journalsProficiency in statistical software such as R, Python, or STATA.Strong expertise in statistical methodologies such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, time -series analysis and Bayesian modeling.Experience working with large datasets and performing data cleaning and preparation.Excellent analytical and problem -solving skills with a strong attention to detail.Effective communication skills for presenting complex data findings to both technical and non -technical audiences. Preferred CompetenciesFamiliarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or ggplot2.Experience with machine learning techniques and predictive modelling.Familiarity with databases and SQL for data extraction and manipulation.Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques such as Bayesian statistics and Monte Carlo simulations.Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.The position requires a one -year commitment, with the potential for extension at theend of the period, subject to funding availability.
