Role Summary

This role will be responsible for strengthening the transfer pricing service offering by providing strategic leadership and technical guidance for the transfer pricing service. The role will lead the delivery of high-quality advisory and compliance services, enhance internal processes and support cross-border engagements in line with local and international transfer pricing regulations.

We are seeking a senior transfer pricing professional with a strong technical foundation in both transfer pricing and international tax, alongside demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-jurisdictional projects. This individual will bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and client engagements, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the firm's broader tax function.

Location:

The role will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Manage the delivery of transfer pricing and international tax advisory and compliance projects for clients operating across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring alignment with global guidelines and local tax laws.
• Advise clients on international tax planning, restructuring, cross-border transactions and the development of transfer pricing strategies, taking into account commercial and regulatory considerations.
• Support clients in navigating complex issues such as permanent establishment risk, treaty application, global minimum tax, and BEPS developments.
• Provide technical support during audits and disputes, and manage engagements with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and other regional tax authorities.
• Translate complex tax rules into practical business insights to support client decision-making and operational strategies.
• Contribute to the growth of the Firm's transfer pricing and international tax practice by identifying new opportunities and supporting client relationship development across East Africa and beyond.
• Mentor and develop junior staff, sharing technical expertise and promoting best practices within the wider tax team.

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience operating across multiple countries or supporting a regional/international tax function, with strong awareness of cross-border tax and transfer pricing dynamics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative, practical solutions in complex scenarios.
• Excellent project management and time management abilities, able to remain calm and focused under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical issues clearly to both tax and non-tax audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to identify areas of risk, conduct thorough reviews, and exercise sound judgment on when to escalate matters.
• Skilled in building and maintaining strong client relationships, with a consistent commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels internally and externally.
• Motivated team player who adapts quickly to new teams and collaborates well across functions and geographies.

The following qualifications and experience are preferred:

• 4 - 6 years of transfer pricing experience, ideally with Big 4 audit firms/international Law Firms or equivalent, and/or in-house multinational settings.
• Strong technical and commercial expertise, with a keen interest in further developing both areas of knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of OECD guidelines, BEPS, and East African tax regulations.
• Proven ability to manage cross-border projects and audits, with practical experience across diverse sectors.
• Project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, or related field.
• Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
• A Master's degree or specialisation in Tax is an added advantage.
