Company Description
Leangoogs AI Technologies builds language and data infrastructure to ensure AI systems work for African realities, not only African markets. The organization focuses on enabling AI in healthcare, finance, governance, and public life to understand people in their own languages, accents, dialects, and natural code-switching patterns.
Its Lean Speech platform is designed specifically for African languages such as Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Nigerian Pidgin, Swahili, and Amharic, providing sovereign, on-premise solutions for institutions that require high language accuracy.
Leangoogs AI also offers a Data Infrastructure Platform that supports annotation, evaluation, and validation of datasets rooted in African languages, local market patterns, and cultural contexts. In addition, the company leads the Language Infrastructure Guild, a professional community of African language AI builders, linguists, researchers, and governance specialists committed to ensuring African languages are deeply represented in future AI systems.
Role Description
The Volunteer African Language Data Contributor role is a full-time, remote position focused on improving AI systems for African languages. The contributor will work with project guidelines to ensure high-quality, consistent data, collaborate with language specialists and AI engineers, and participate in periodic training or calibration sessions to align on standards. This role may also involve contributing to documentation on language usage, helping refine annotation tools and workflows, and supporting quality assurance processes across multiple African languages.
